Sunset Townhouse
Duplex gut-renovation of a Brooklyn townhouse
An artful renovation project is underway at Studio Vural. Designed for a creative couple, the former rental floors are being opened up to create a fluid, light-filled space energized by bold jewel tones. Sunset Park Townhouse is living proof of what thoughtful design can achieve on a limited budget.
Above is the kitchen featuring splashes of bright yellow cabinets and white quartz countertops. Located centrally, it connects the home office in the back and the dining area at the front. The pantry is creatively situated under the staircase that leads to the second floor. The wood-clad multi-functional area is designed to transition between home office, lounge, and guest room. Three skylights, framed by prismatic ceiling openings, create a sculptural canopy while subtly defining the spaces beneath.
Our client's primary requirement for her home office was: "I want color, nothing should be white". Our design is not only intensely colorful, but also sculpturally playful.
