Eastern Parkway Townhouse
Gut Renovation for a developer in Crown Heights
Modernizing a Classic
In Crown Heights, one of Brooklyn’s most sought-after neighborhoods, we revitalized a classic townhouse for our developer client. The project is a 2400sf two-family residence with the addition of an excavated cellar for a prime recreation space.
Fusion of old and new requires diligent work. We designed two contemporary kitchens that blended seamlessly with the historic woodwork. On garden and parlor floors, we removed numerous partitions to create an open, loft-like layout tailored to today's contemporary buyers.
Layout is key for the success of a project. Therefore, after exploring multiple design options, we refined the plan to achieve fluid circulation and a natural spatial flow.
The garden level was reimagined as a private in-law suite, while the deepened cellar now provides generous recreational space. The parlor floor features an open layout complemented by a new steel deck, enabling seamless indoor-outdoor living.
Upstairs, the second floor includes a spacious primary suite and two additional bedrooms, ideal for children or guests. This project reflects our commitment to infusing new life into a deteriorated historic gem while honoring its original character, so share it if you like it.

The second floor holds two bedrooms and their bathroom, accessed by an atrium with natural light which is the connector between three rooms while creating a playful area for kids. Across the atrium is the primary suite with a large bedroom, a walk-in closet, and a premium bathroom clad with travertine slabs and white oak cabinetry. Brass mirrors and hardware paired with earthy materials create a sophisticated environment with comfort.
Our design team's talent and knowledge enabled these high-end results while adhering to the tight budget of our developer client.
