Acadia Competition
This is our Acadia 2007 International Competition entry, an honorable-mention winner for a cultural institution in Nova Scotia, Canada. It is inspired by imposing mass and geometry of the cruise ships passing by the site along the bay on a daily basis.
In the era of global warming where spectacles of melting glaciers are joyfully catered to purveyors of mass tourism, it made perfect (non)sense to design a glacier-sliced-by-a-cruise-ship building.
